End of Fiscal Year 2011

Fellow employees,

I want to thank you for your tremendous efforts, especially over these past few difficult months. It is with great pride I get to inform you that we have exceeded this quarter’s numbers by 5%. This also marks the end of our fiscal year where we will finish 3% higher in profits than predicted. This growth, despite the global economic trouble, is a testament to our company and shows how we can pull together and continue to provide customer satisfaction.

Moving forward we need to remain untied and work together to exceed customer expectations. The economy is still unsettled and the energy industry is predicted to slow. We are the aftermarket turbine accessory leader and with our new cutting edge technologies and performance gains we must demonstrate to customers our products potential to enhance there power system. Together we can overcome these economic troubles and yet again have a prosperous year in 2012.

Thank you.

  1. I like the"we" not "I" approach this CEO has taken in communicatig the sucess of the organization despite the obstacle of the troubling global economy.

A great choice of words are used to make an employee understand that the CEO understands the accomplishment that the organizations has achieve despite the odds.

A great message that tells the reader the challenges faced by the corporation with an indication of what needs to happen to overcome the challenges.

  3. This is a good message where positive business results were presented with a hint of slow down. Probably it helps employees to continue working hard and not getting complacent with the circumstances.

Probably I think, it would be nice to mention why company achieved 3% more profits than expected. Some examples such as growth in certain sector or product or raised prices etc. I am sure as a CEO, you might know more details but employees can see how other variables of profit making can be raised.

  4. Nicely organized message Tom. I liked how you stated "We are the aftermarket turbine accessory leader." This gives employees a sense of pride, and reminds them they are leaders in their industry. This will certainly entice positive results, as they would likely be motivated to continue working together and maintain the leadership position in their industry.

  5. Hussain I agree, an explosion in the European market is the main reason for this year’s success; this key supporting detail will be added to my audio file. Thank you.

  6. I really liked the way you worded and structured the memo. The CEO is praiseworthy, but does not go overboard with too much praise. You talk about the challenges of the economic environment while remaining positive and providing encouragement. That will inspire confidence in the workforce that they can continue to overcome the challenges.

Your use of "We" will also inspire a sense of pride and help maintain and improve the cohesiveness of your employees.

  7. Tom,
I think you used a lot of powerful words in your message, such as tremendous, exceed, prosperous, and leader to expresses your happiness with and confidence in your workforce. I thought it was important and valuable that you stressed the importance of continuing to work together as your company moves forward. By stressing and encouraging teamwork your company will be able to surpass their main competitors. After all, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Additionally, I think it is important that you stressed exceeding customers’ expectations. As a company, if you keep your customers and consumers happy you are more inclined to have consistent and superior sales records.
